Home > Arrows and Arrow Making > Sherwood Silver Streak 4" Fletching Jig
Reviewed By Steve , 18 August 2010
A small light weight jig you could slip in your pocket, that is one of the few if not the only advantage this jig has over others on the market.
Most jigs operate with a magnet but this one has two spring loaded clamps which holds the fletching clamp in place, at 4" it is very small, there is a 6" version and I have no idea why you would buy the 4" when a 6" inch can be had for a couple of pounds more.
It will do what it says it will do, that is, fletch an arrow but it is somewhat fiddly having to slide the clamp between the spring loaded pegs, it's so light it can only just support its own weight and with an arrow of any size in it the chances are it will fall over.
I have few good things to say about this jig except to say that some must like it otherwise the manufacturers wouldn't feel the need to produce two models.
At this price there are far better jigs out there.

| If you really must have this model of jig, then buy the 6" version, it weighs a tad more and is just 2 inches longer | |

There is a helical option – the inner frame which holds the fletch can be moved relative to the outer frame which holds the shaft.
As to the weight, there are a couple of holes in the outer frame so it can be bolted to a bench or other support (some people mount several of them on vertically rotating frames).
It isn’t everybody’s cup of tea but they’ve been selling regularly for a very long time with almost no modification. Our latest mod allows the same nock locator to be used for regular or cock feather vertical fletching.
